Does anyone have a Nokia Lumia 1020? Do you like it? What carrier are you on? What's your bill like?

I don't have one, but in the US the 1020 is AT&T exclusive. Their plans cost somewhere between $80-100 per month for 1 phone. For a family share plan you pay about 40 per device, and then you pay somewhere between $60-100 for data, voice, and text to share with other devices on account.

Currently the 1020 is $200 on contract. I just saw one in the wild yesterday. The guy was updating from an iPhone 5. He seems to like it thus far. Sorry I couldn't tell you more.

If you can source one off-contract, which would probably be about $800, the 1020 should also work on T-Mobile's network.

I have a 920 on ATT, and it's about $100/month for my talk, text, and data plan. We have the cheapest data package at 300MB per month.

I like the 920 quite a bit, thought I have had some issues with dropping my signal, and battery drain plus heat. I ordered the phone the day it was released, so it may just be a first-run hardware problem and one would think Nokia has corrected the issue with later production runs, and the new hardware in the 1020.

It's a good looking phone, and all the reviews have been very positive. I would like to get a 1020 myself when I'm out of contract on this one.

I love my 920! I hate the camera. (I've played with it and) I love the GDR2 "Amber" update, totally fixes the camera! I hate AT&T for not getting off their asses and approving the update.

That said, I have a friend who has a 1020 and if it wasn't for the GDR3 and 8.1 (Blue?) coming soon enough I'd be trading the wife's 900 for it. If you're on AT&T, I suggest waiting for the next new flagship device so you get all the cool new features like CUSTOM NOTIFICATIONS and more!

How does one get these updates then?

I have 1314, and my phone says there aren't any more available. Do I need to hack it? I had all my previous iPhones Jailbroken, so as long as there is handy software to do it for me I am totally fine with hacking my phone.

If I have to enter code, I will probably pass.

Are you US AT&T? If so, you don't get them yet. They still haven't approved them. Nokia says everyone should have it by end of September but, knowing AT&T's inability to do a goddamned thing, I'm guessing somewhere around Halloween for the official update.

There is a way to hack the phone and get them, but you'll be on a Rogers ROM and will not be able to go back to an AT&T ROM (nobody's figured that part out yet). XDA Developers has all the info on loading a new ROM on your 920. Not too painful, but right now no way to go back.

Yep, stuck with the asshats at US ATT until next Decemeber. We may leave early once our ETFs are low enough to consider it.

And, yeah ATT sucks at doing anything but taking money.
